If you haven't gone to Breadsmith to indulge in the Chocolate Babka, do yourself a favor and go there soon for this vegan treat. This kosher bakery has three three Twin Cities locations: Edina (50th & France), St. Paul and Minnetonka. Depending on the day, you can buy Chocolate Babka rolls or go for a whole loaf. They have at least a couple of other vegan items; just ask.

I can't help but be impressed by zpizza. They make a point of highlighting their vegan selections on their web site. And at the very beginning of the FAQ section, they address a number of vegan-related questions about their food, including a comprehensive listing of all of their vegan ingredients.

We enjoyed the Berkeley Vegan from their one Twin Cities-area restaurant, which is located in Roseville. (There is also a location Rochester, MN.) Yes, they use Daiya vegan cheese!

The Bad Waitress

This was my first visit to The Bad Waitress since they've updated their menu and added more vegan items. I really enjoyed the veggie burger, which they say includes a blend of 10 ingredients. I had them include Daiya vegan cheese on the burger. It's big and it's a winner!

Vegan Cookbook Event Today - 10-1-11

Robin Asbell will be discussing (and signing) her new cookbook, Big Vegan, and offering samples of vegan dishes. The event is TODAY, from 11-2, at the Linden Hills Co-op.
