Pizza Luce - Hopkins

Of all the times I've visited Pizza Luce over the years, I think this is only the second time I've ordered a salad as a main course. This is the veganized version of the spinach salad at the Hopkins location. That's a lot of lemon pepper tofu! Trust me, there is spinach under there. And it was all good. 

Cupcake - Mall of America

My first visit to Cupcake at the Mall of America resulted in a bit of a surprise. That surprise was finding FOUR flavors of vegan cupcakes. I chose this tasty one with strawberry frosting.

Marin

Really liked a curried lentil and mushroom dish at Marin, located in downtown Minneapolis. At the moment, their online menu is not updated. They have retained one vegan entree and several clearly-labeled vegan sides and small plates.

Parkway Pizza

Finally tried Parkway Pizza in Minneapolis' Longfellow area for the first time. Another pizza place with Daiya vegan cheese!

Agra Culture Kitchen & Press

I've made two trips to Agra Culture Kitchen & Press, which opened recently in the 50th & France area. With an Agra Plate, you can choose a protein, sauces and sides. On my first visit I went with the vegan chick'n with Sriracha and seasonal hash. On the second visit I chose the seared tofu with spicy miso and brown "unfried" rice. Both were excellent! The in-store menu is very clear about which items are vegan. And the refillable natural sodas are a bonus. Also open in Uptown. I'll be a frequent customer.

Pizza Luce Richfield

Had a great Father's Day brunch at Pizza Luce in Richfield, trying the veganized Huevos Luceros, which includes corn tortillas with spinach, quinoa, black beans, avocado, and tofu. It's excellent!

The Bulldog Northeast

I finally made it to The Bulldog NE. Upon arrival, we were asked whether we'd like to see the vegetarian menu. Yeah, we would like to see that particular menu! There are four vegan burgers on the menu, among other veg items, and I opted for the one called the Original. It includes "bacon" mayo, fried mushrooms, tomato, onions, and lettuce on grilled focaccia. After one visit, I'd definitely rank this place among the top vegan bar food joints in Minneapolis.

Mesa Pizza Uptown

After enjoying a veggie-filled vegan slice at Mesa Pizza's Uptown location, I went home to discover that my family had picked up a donut for me at Glam Doll. Yeah!

We had a very satisfying brunch at Pizza Luce in Richfield. Tofu Scramble and Tomato Florentine.

Kitty Corner Cafe

The vegan panini at the Kitty Corner Cafe in Stadium Village.  Yum. As noted on their web site, it includes:  roasted red pepper hummus, peppered deli-sliced Tofurky, vegan mozzarella cheese, tomato and basil. 

Punk Rawk Labs

We've been enjoying the locally made, cashew-based vegan cheese made by Punk Rawk Labs. According to their web page, they'll open a retail store some time this year. I've purchased multiple varieties at both the Linden Hills Co-op and the Seward Co-op. The Nacho flavor is great. I picked up the Smoked flavor today but haven't tried it yet.

Modern Times Cafe

The 2012 sandwich at the Modern Times Cafe might not be the most photogenic meal you've ever seen on Mill City Vegan, but if eating a large amount of seitan appeals to you, don't miss this!

I made it to Glam Doll Donuts, where they now dedicate a separate display area to vegan donuts. I stopped by in the early afternoon and they were sold out of the vegan stuff because someone (maybe one of you???) had purchased a whole lot of them. They let me know what time they expected to have more, so I dropped in again later in the day. I'll just say this: prepare yourself for some of the best vegan donuts you've ever tasted.
