Coconut Thai
Coconut Thai is a new place at 50th & France. The menu notes that most dishes can be made vegan. I went with the Stir-Fried Mixed Vegetables with Tofu. Thoroughly enjoyed!

Jasmine Deli
It had been too long since I last visited Jasmine Deli. I stopped in for the mock duck noodle salad.

Pizza Luce
Tried a newer brunch item at the Richfield Pizza Luce. The Buckaroo is the vegan version of the brunch burrito and it includes seasoned tofu and vegan sausage in place of eggs and chorizo. Will order again.

Vellee Deli
Check out Vellee Deli, now located in the skyway level of the Baker Center, along 7th Street between Marquette and 2nd. I've had the tofu burrito bowl a couple of times, which includes spicy Thai curry. Hold the zing sauce to make it vegan. They ask you what level of spiciness you'd prefer. Mild suits me fine!

Pizza Luce
The vegan Mock Muffuletta at Pizza Luce is always a solid choice. Got this one at the Seward location.

Caffrey's Deli
For the first time in quite a long time, I indulged in the veganized Three Pepper Chicken sub at Caffrey's Deli in Lyn-Lake.

Target Field
Enjoyed a vegan hot dog today at Target Field. I might have overdone it on the ketchup. Kudos to the Twins for transitioning to compostable food and beverage packaging. Oh, and they just won 20 games in May.

A La Salsa- Update
I returned to A La Salsa at the Midtown Global Market to order the deliciously vegan soy chorizo. I was informed by a conscientious employee that the rice is NOT VEGAN. It has chicken stock. It's disappointing that I wasn't informed of this when I explicitly attempted to order a vegan meal during my previous visit. But the soy chorizo is still vegan. Just don't order rice on the side!

A La Salsa
A La Salsa has become more vegan-friendly. Here is what is says on their web site: "Our latest creation is an alternative to traditional Mexican chorizo. We've created our own recipe for soy chorizo. It's vegetarian, gluten free, vegan, and...delicious!" After eating the Tacos de Soy Chorizo at the Midtown Global Market location, I can confirm the delicious part! There is a veg section of the menu and other vegetarian items are identified throughout.

Vegan at Target Field - 2015
Baseball season is starting again. Kudos to the Twins for adding another option for vegans in 2015. It has been reported that Hot Indian Foods will serve Vegan Aloo Gobi from a cart near section 120. (I recently had an opportunity to try the Vegan Aloo Gobi from their food truck at an event. Good stuff!)
There will be at least three things on various Target Field menus this year that use the word "vegan." Those aren't the only vegan items, of course, but it's nice when they actually use the v-word so you don't have to send employees searching for a list of ingredients while 10 people are in line behind you. Here is a link to a list of their veg and gluten-free items, which apparently hasn't been updated to include the new Hot Indian dish.

I went to Wedge Table for the first time, which is the Wedge Co-op's outpost on Eat Street. Had an avocado burrito. Burritos aren't particularly photogenic, so I've included a couple of photos of the building.

Modern Love Omaha
We recently spent a long weekend in Omaha. Our primary reason for going to Omaha? Modern Love, the new restaurant established by one of the coolest vegans around: Isa Chandra Moskowitz. We were super excited to check it out. We had a 9:00 p.m. reservation on a Friday night. Yes, Isa was there, doing a bit of everything--seating people, clearing tables, folding napkins, etc. Anyway, about the food. It's at least as great as you'd expect. I had the Seitan Chops & Apple Sauce. My wife had the Mac & Shew. And we shared a sundae. You should travel to Omaha. Seriously. Reservations recommended. For any meals that you can't eat at Modern Love, check out other online resources like veganomaha.com and Vegguide.

Greenfield Natural Kitchen
I checked out Greenfield Natural Kitchen, which is a new establishment in the skyway-level of Minneapolis' Canadian Pacific Plaza. I've noticed long lines at this place since they opened. You have the ability to choose from a variety of greens, grains, and the option of tofu among the "protein" options. I ordered a bowl with quinoa, black beans, spinach, kale, tofu, avocado, and mushrooms. I love that the tofu is less expensive than the dead animal options.Their in-store menu clearly labels which dressings are vegan, and most of them are. A nice lunch option.

The Bad Waitress
The Vegan Faux Sloppy Joe at The Bad Waitress remains one of my favorite vegan things in Minneapolis.

Tiny Diner
First trip to Tiny Diner. Ordered the Grateful Bowl, which consists of roasted vegetables, farro, quinoa, kale, tofu, pistachio, avocado, wild mushrooms, and roasted garlic. It's quite good. The vegan options on the menu are pretty limited, but it does claim that many menu items can be made vegan or gluten-free. Check it out.
